Dear Friends,
Last year, we launched a capital campaign at Blessed Sacrament to raise funds to fix the front steps of the church, the stone wall and many other projects.
As the result of this capital campaign, an anonymous and very generous donor came forward and donated a significant amount of money to fix the deteriorating front steps of Blessed Sacrament Church and the stone wall that is falling apart.
I'm grateful beyond words for this unbelievable gift and I ask you to keep this amazing family in your thoughts and daily prayers.
I cannot stress enough how important this gift is, given the 150th anniversary of Blessed Sacrament is around the corner.
I was praying that someone would donate enough money this year to fix the entrance of Blessed Sacrament Church before the anniversary and there it is. God is Good!!
The company will start ripping up the front steps on Monday, August 5th (mark your calendars) and the work is expected to last 8 to 10 weeks.
During that time, all funerals and weddings will be held at St. Mary Church. We thank our St. Mary parishioners for sharing their church during this time of construction.
However, the weekend and the daily masses on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays will remain at Blessed Sacrament Church.
During the weeks of repair, I'm asking you to use the two side doors to get in and out of the church and NOT the front steps of the church. I would recommend that you use the side door that is located between the Parish Office and the main church to come in and exit. However, if you choose to use the door on East Street, please be aware of the traffic. There will be signage around the parish grounds to guide you in the right direction, as well as instructional announcements from the pulpit.
Please pray for me and as I do for you and your loved ones each and every day.
I remain yours in the Lord,
Fr Jean Pierre Aubin, your friend and pastor
