The Archdiocesan Guidelines describe the PPC's purpose: "to assist the pastor in his leadership role of planning, organizing, initiating, promoting, coordinating and reviewing the evangelization, worship, religious education and service activities within the parish." Collaborative Pastoral Council members have three year terms, are nominated by any parishioners, and are chosen from among all nominations after a process of prayerful discernment.
The Collaborative Parishes Pastoral Council combines the pastoral councils for Blessed Sacrament Parish and St. Mary Parish to work together to represent the interests of both parishes and assist the Pastor in the many initiatives that are part of the pastoral plan for the collaborative.
