Welcome to Walpole Catholic Collaborative's Confirmation Program!
Following Cardinal Sean O'Malley's recent directive to lower the eligibility age for the sacrament of Confirmation from high school age to eighth grade, our parishes will shift from a two-year to a one-year preparatory program for some grade levels over the next two years. This transition will accommodate our eligible high school students in the 9th and 10th grades, regardless of where they attend high school. What implications does this have for your child(ren)?
Here is a breakdown of our program expectations for the next three years:
In 2024-2025: all eligible 9th & 10th graders who attend a public, private, or parochial school, will receive the sacrament of Confirmation this year, while grade 8 enters into Year One of their Confirmation preparations.
In 2025-2026: all eligible 8th & 9th graders who attend a public, private, or parochial school, will receive the sacrament of Confirmation, while grade 7 enters into Year One of their Confirmation preparations.
and in 2026-2027: all eligible 7th graders who attend a public, private, or parochial school, will enter into Year One of their Confirmation preparations, while the 8th graders will enter into Year Two and receive the sacrament of Confirmation.
