Finance Committees

There are two separate Parish Finance Councils for St. Mary and Blessed Sacrament Parishes.  The Parish Finance Councils, which meet on a monthly basis, are consultative committees who provide guidance to the Pastor and Administrator.  The Councils regularly studies income and expenses and makes recommendations on the fiscal health of the parish. The councils are responsible for overseeing the fiscal demands of operating the parish and planning for the future.

An active Parish Finance Council is critical to the sound management of a parish. For this reason, every parish is required by the Code of Canon Law (Canon 537) to establish a Finance Council, which acts as a consultative body of the faithful to assist the pastor/administrator in the administration of the goods of a parish and to ensure accountability to the archdiocesan bishop and parishioners.
