Welcome to 7th Grade!
Starting with the 2025 faith formation program year, our 7th graders will begin a new Confirmation preparation program designed for middle school students, setting them on the path to receive the sacrament of Confirmation in their 8th grade year. This includes attending in-person academic sessions or opting for our homeschool alternative, as well as engaging in our evolving middle school youth ministry and service programs.
Seventh graders who attend Catholic schools are not required to attend faith formation sessions this year but are encouraged to participate in the service projects and other activities offered throughout the program year in preparation for receiving the sacrament of Confirmation in our parishes.
There are two (2) program options available for 7th grade families in 2024-2025:
In-person sessions: Using the "Altaration: The Mystery of the Mass Revealed" curriculum by Ascension Press, students will delve into the significance of the Mass and its role in our faith, especially focusing on the True Presence of Christ in the Eucharist. These sessions are scheduled monthly on Sunday evenings from 6pm to 8pm at the Saint Mary campus. Students are also encouraged to attend the Fall retreat, engage in service opportunities, and participate in a Summer Mission Trip in 2025.
At-home option: With materials from "Project Nazareth: Faith Begins at Home," students and their parents will dedicate time to weekly catechesis at home, attend Mass regularly, and partake in the sacraments, with monthly opportunities to connect with others in the homeschool program. Students are likewise encouraged to attend the Fall retreat, engage in service opportunities, and participate in a Summer Mission Trip in 2025.
