High School (Grades 9 & 10)

For all eligible high school youth in grades 9 & 10, regardless of where they attend high school.

Eligibility requirements: any youth attending a public, private, or Catholic high school, who is an incoming 9th or 10th grader in the Fall of 2024, is eligible to receive the sacrament of Confirmation with us in the Walpole Catholic Collaborative during the 2024-2025 program year. 

Program Overview

Grade 9: Semester 1 (Fall/Winter) Youth are invited to participate in monthly service opportunities during the Fall and Winter, as part of the Service requirements for our program. Academic sessions will begin in Semester 2 (in late Winter) and conclude with a retreat and a late-Spring celebration the sacrament of Confirmation.

Grade 10: Semester 1 (Fall/Winter) Youth participate in sacramental preparatory sessions, service opportunities, and a retreat, with an expected date of celebration of the sacrament of Confirmation in mid-January. 

Overall program expectations: 

• Attendance at weekly Sunday Mass.

• Receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation at least once prior to receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation.
  • Current schedule of available days and times our parishes regularly offer the sacrament of Reconciliation:
    • FIRST WEDNESDAY of every MONTH: 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Blessed Sacrament Church
    • WEDNESDAY - FRIDAY:  5:15 AM to 5:45 AM at Saint Mary Church
    • WEDNESDAY - FRIDAY:  6:15 AM to 6:30 AM at Saint Mary Church
    • SATURDAYS:  2:45 PM to 3:45 PM at Saint Mary Church
    • SATURDAYS:  2:45 PM to 3:45 PM at Blessed Sacrament Church

• Attendance at and participation in our academic faith formation sessions to ensure our youth are knowledgeable about the Catholic faith and its traditions and feel empowered to go out and spread the Good News while living out their call to discipleship, as Jesus calls us all to do.

• Participation in two (2) Community Service opportunities and two (2) Parish Service opportunities. For a complete listing of available service options in each category, please click on the links above.

• Attendance at and participation in our Confirmation retreat.  In the event that your child cannot attend our scheduled retreat, attendance at and participation in another local parish's Confirmation retreat is required.  It is the responsibility of the child or child's parent to find a suitable option as a replacement for our retreat.
