Middle School Grades 6-8 Faith Formation

Welcome to the Walpole Catholic Collaborative!

Our reimagined faith formation program for middle schoolers is set to launch in Fall 2024, aligning with the updated age criteria for Confirmation eligibility, shifting from high school students to those in eighth grade.
 
This transition will unfold gradually over a three-year span, ensuring we can still support our high school families currently eligible to receive the sacrament of Confirmation.

How will this affect your middle school aged child(ren)?
 
For the 2024-2025 academic year, eighth graders will begin a Year One Confirmation program, aimed at deepening their understanding of faith, fostering discipleship, and preparing them to receive the sacrament of Confirmation in ninth grade. Seventh graders will delve into the significance of the Mass and Christ's presence in the Eucharist, while sixth graders will explore divine encounters in daily life, our faith heritage, the Church's development, and Bible study.
 
In the 2025-2026 school year, seventh graders will start their Confirmation journey in Year One, as eighth graders progress to Year Two and prepare for Confirmation. Sixth graders will persist in their exploration of God's presence in daily life, our faith lineage, the Church's history, and biblical literacy.
 
By 2026-2027, our middle school curriculum will fully transition to a three-year Confirmation track, with sixth graders entering Year One, seventh graders advancing to Year Two, and eighth graders embarking on Year Three, a condensed program culminating in the sacrament of Confirmation.
