The Rev. Donald Delay Service Recognition Award Program was established in 1998, with initial funding provided personally by Fr. Donald Delay, to acknowledge and reward the contributions made by high school students to St. Mary Parish. After Fr. Delay was transferred from St. Mary Parish, the award was renamed in his honor. This award is intended for high school seniors who are parishioners and have given their time in service to their church and community. With the blessings of Fr. Delay and Fr. Jean Pierre and the agreement of the committee members, we opened up the award to members of Blessed Sacrament Parish. Over the past 27 years, 206 young parishioners have been honored for their service to our churches. These young people are role models for their peers and for the younger children in our collaborative. Their active and enthusiastic involvement in parish life is a form of evangelization that speaks louder than words. Any member of St. Mary Parish or Blessed Sacrament Parish who will have graduated from high school in the current year may apply for this award. Awards will be given to those high school seniors who demonstrate substantial and continuous contributions to service. The application should be completed and returned by email to [email protected] by Monday, May 19. Click on box for application. 2025 Application |
